Büdöskút rest stop, Szent Miklós fountain

The rest stop is in the heart of the hills at a cross point of many tourist paths. The Büdöskút forest house, and the Büdöskút and Szent Miklós fountains are in the close vicinity. There is a forestry arboretum, established by Károly Horváth silviculture engineer in 1937 and further developed in 1954. There are tables and benches, an information board, and a shelter.Szent Miklós Valley is one of the most romantic valleys in the hills. The fountain used to be affluent, but, due to droughty summers, it nowadays delivers less water.
On the hillside above the fountain there used to be a Pauline monastery and church named after St. Nicholas, which used to be called Vállusszentmiklós. In the 1930s the ruins looked like piles of stone, now there are hardly any traces of the former buildings.

Bélapi rest stop in Balatongyörök

The rest stop, which is one of the key starting points of hikers and bikers, is also the southern gate to the hills and has many resting facilities, such as a barbecue place, a small playground, a hut, a toilet and a carved wooden memorial to commemorate the Széchenyi memorial tour of 1991. From here you can walk to the Mátyás Bél lookout.
The natural trail called ”Uncle Dormouse”, created by the Balaton Uplands National Park can be found nearby.

Nagymezõ rest stop and playground

This leisure centre offers the largest variety of facilities and attracts the most visitors in the Keszthely Mountains. There have been many recent developments: the roofed rest area has been completely renovated and new resting facilities have been established, in 2000 a 1300-metre forest playground was built with 16 stops and the renovated Festetics lookout can also be found nearby.
The forest playground is an outdoor leisure facility available for training and health protection free of charge to anybody at any time. At every stop there are exercisers in sizes suitable not only for adults, but also children. Each stop is designed to let you enjoy and discover the beauties of nature, get refreshed mentally and spiritually while doing exercises.

Padkûi lookout and rest stop

In 2002 Balaton Uplands National Park made smaller restoration work on the lookout, which is located 500-600 metres south of the rest stop in Büdöskút. In the rest area in front of the lookout there is a memorial wood column of Rudolf Jakobfi that was erected in 2002.

The lookout was built in 1972 by the Keszthely Forestry and renovated in 2001 by the Balaton Uplands National Park.

The Balaton Uplands National Park renovated it in 2002, it is located in the territory of the Vonyarcvashegy Association.

Csodabogyós Cave - Balatonederics

Csodabogyós Cave

Near Balatonederics, in the beautiful forest of the Balaton Uplands
National Park there is the strictly protected, more than 5 km long
Csodabogyós Cave. Certain branches of the cave have been opened to the
public. If you are curious to see this extraordinary underground world, if you
are interested in the history of the development of the cave and would like
to admire the spectacular dripstones, discover the awe-inspiring sights under
the conduct of our skilled tour guides! Depending on your habitude and confidence
you can choose between the standard tour of 1.5–2 hours and the advanced
tour of 3.5–4 hours. Caving overall, helmet and headlamp are provided for you. You only need to appear at the base building (red START label on the
map) 30 minutes before the tour starts, wearing boots you don’t mind getting
dirty and comfortable clothes. As not only the cave but also the surface
area are strictly protected, we approach the cave entrance on foot (an approx
40-minute-long walk uphill).
Standard tours start for 8–13 people, advanced tours start for 5–8 people during
the whole year by prior arrangement at 8:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00
hours (start of advanced tours: by appointment).
